Sprawl Static: This Week’s Noise

The Sprawl doesn’t sleep; it swirls.

This week, the streets were loud with rumors, half-truths and the kind of gossip that moves faster than Citro through Neo Drift.

First up: Alien Cheese has officially been named Sexiest Being Alive, and the city hasn’t stopped arguing since.

The announcement came via Secondhand Smoke, and immediately the controversy began. Never has the title gone to anyone who lived outside the Sprawl. Critics were quick to call it a stunt. Supporters fired back, arguing that Cheese doesn’t belong to any one place, you’ll see him in any region.

Love him or not, the debate cracked open a bigger question the Sprawl hates asking: who gets to decide where someone belongs?

Then came the photos.

Permanent Marker was spotted in the New West. The exclusive images were published  by Weed Street. The looks were high fashion, tailored silhouettes with a desert edge, and she was always flanked by her crew.

The timing hasn’t gone unnoticed.
People are already whispering about what happens when she crosses paths with Dusty D. The New West remembers everything.

But no matter what story of the week comes up, the city’s biggest it-couple still dominates the headlines.

What’s really going on with Cantaloupe Crush… and Yeti OG?

This month, Cantaloupe Crush agreed to sit down with UNDER THE HOOD Magazine—no filters, for a full Q&A.

She says, it’s not to clear up rumors, it’s to talk business.

UNDER THE HOOD MAGAZINE

Under the Hood with Cantaloupe Crush

UTH: Everyone knows you as the best mechanic in the Sprawl. Fewer people talk about you as a businesswoman. How intentional was that?

Cantaloupe Crush:
In my line of work, I’d rather be known as a good mechanic. The business part will always be there. My crew and my customers don’t need to think of me as a “good businesswoman,” but I do need to know my shit.

I’m passionate about cars. That’s what people see first. They see how I solve problems, how much experience I bring into every build, and how seriously I take my shop. When people talk about Crush Customs, they don’t talk about spreadsheets, they talk about the work.

UTH: Your father was a racing legend in the Sprawl. How do you honor him, both through your shop and on the track? And how important is it to you to keep his legacy alive?

Cantaloupe Crush:

Everything I do traces back to him.
The shop runs on his rules, do it right, or don’t do it at all. Every tool I buy, every car I touch, every decision I make, I ask myself if he’d respect it. If the answer’s no, it doesn’t happen.

On the track, it’s the same. I don’t race to be flashy. I race clean. Controlled. Like he taught me. Winning was never the point, finishing strong was.

Keeping his legacy alive isn’t about stories or trophies. It’s about making sure I make him proud.

UTH: There are some people who say that you’re only where you are today because of your father. Do you think that’s true? What’s your edge?

Cantaloupe Crush:
That’s an interesting question. Of course, there is some truth to that, right? He raised me to love cars, he took me out on the track, taught me everything I know.

But beyond that, I have busted my ass to be here. I didn’t inherit a “cute little garage.” I inherited responsibility, employees, legacy, expectations. I learned early that in this business, if you don’t stay on top, someone else takes your place. So right now, I think knowing that I have to go hard is my edge. I am not letting go.

UTH: Let’s talk about the rumors. People say your shop sees cars no one else will touch.

Cantaloupe Crush:
People say a lot of things when they don’t understand how the Sprawl works.
I fix what comes through my door. I don’t care where it’s been and I shouldn’t have to.

UTH: That’s fair. Still… some names come up more than others. Yeti OG, for example.

Cantaloupe Crush:
Of course he does.

UTH: So what is your relationship with Yeti OG?

Cantaloupe Crush:
I’ve known Yeti for a few years now and what I will say is there is a lot of respect there.
Yeti and I understand each other and we’ve become great friends.

UTH: That’s not exactly denying the rumors that the two of you are together.

Cantaloupe Crush:
I don’t owe anyone an explanation.
I will say this: I am very careful with who I surround myself with and I don’t choose weak ones.

UTH: Some people think being associated with someone like Yeti could hurt your brand.

Cantaloupe Crush:
My brand is precision, loyalty, and results.
If that scares people, they were never my customers.

UTH: You’re one of the few women running a high-level operation in a very male space. Has that shaped how you move?

Cantaloupe Crush:
It taught me to let underestimation do the work for me.
People talk down, then I outlast them.

UTH: You’re officially sponsored by Fioré as a racer. Why does that partnership work for you?

Cantaloupe Crush:
Because they don’t try to turn me into something I’m not. They give me the freedom to show up as myself on the track, in the shop, everywhere in between. That matters more than people realize.

They trust my process. They just let me do what I do best and back it properly.

UTH: What does Fioré bring to the table beyond the sponsorship?

Cantaloupe Crush:
They respect craft. You can feel it in how they build their products and how they work with people. That alignment makes it easy. And yeah, the vapes are killer. That’s not why I signed on, but I’m not mad about it. I’m lucky to be partnered with something I actually enjoy. I wouldn’t put my name on anything I wouldn’t smoke.

At the end of the day, it feels mutual. Fioré supports my racing. I represent them honestly. No gimmicks. No pressure. Just real work and real trust.

UTH: Final question. What’s next for you?

Cantaloupe Crush:
I am ready for anything. This year I want it all and you won’t see me coming.

Final Lap

The Sprawl will keep speculating.
That’s what it does.

But after this week, one thing’s clear:
Cantaloupe Crush isn’t a rumor, a side character, or someone standing in anyone’s shadow.

She’s under the hood, hands steady, eyes forward, and whatever she’s building next is going to move fast.
